simple, but the catalog has some nice features: reviews of books within the catalog, links to other titles by the same author, and fiction genre browsing section
I like the white space setting off information but contact information is way down the site and you must go into about us for hours which is one of the things people want to know most. like the options to search the site, search the catalog, search? Like the link to mobile site which I have seen on other library websites.
Thought that the Reference and Research Icon was poorly formatted Found that the search engine was easy to find Liked that the new books and staff picks had an option to "reserve it" from the same page (you are directed through a link under the book jacket cover picture)
like that calendar of events has printable version Kids page only shows photos of events no information for parents and kids. like events listing on left side of each page
an example of a very simple webpage

ReplyDeletefrom a reference staff member: not as good as ours. lots of white space but doesn't seem well organized on home page.
ReplyDeletefrom another reference staff member: liked: link for Books on the Air under New Books, pictures of childen's programs, cover images of new audiobooks.

I liked the header, other than that.... Is it against the law to use interesting fonts?
ReplyDeleteFrom a reference staff member:
ReplyDeleteToo much white on the page looks glaring. Library hrs. & location are hidden under “about us”.
Staff comments:
ReplyDeletePros: Larger fonts, New Fiction Highlighted
Cons: didn’t care for the colors
