  1. easy to find hours and contact info.
photos and colored headings make scanning easy.
Under catalog-like review column, bestseller sections by media outlet, and staff picks.
Research page has lots of useful links by topic.
Love the community tag full of information way beyond the library itself!
Did you see the Darien flash drive they sell for $10?

  2. liked this layout except for the fact that some of the web pages go on forever. how many people will take the time to scroll thru all that? liked the links at the top and the "search here" that you can then limit to catalog: everything, etc. Lots of nice white spaces, hours and location easy to find. Really liked how as you moved from category to category the content changed. Very much liked the Events category with the Happening Today and Happening This Week lists. Liked the layout for sections such as services, etc. with their easy to see and read subcategories.

  3. from a reference staff member: my favorite. like design (mix of white space, text and images) organization, links to community events. use of small icons for facebook, twitter, etc. since anyone who uses them should recognize them.

  4. from another reference staff member: wide screen layout like a newspaper. liked links for technology services.

  5. The "My account, catalog, events, services, research, kid, teen, community" icons are easy to find on the top of the homepage. Liked the word "research" instead of "databases"
Slightly boring homepage layout (few colors – mostly black and white)
    Easy to navigate features
happening today feature at each page (i.e. Kids, Teens, Adults)

  6. I expected to like this one and I did (though not as much as I thought I would). Liked the right side of the home page, strong colors, larger sized images stand out. Left side disappointingly weak--washed out.

  7. Like the clean-looking layout. Good use of the white space.
Don't like the blog style postings.
Interesting that they offer free webhosting to nonprofits.

  8. From a reference staff member:
Pleasing layout but some programs listed on the webpage have too much descriptive information. For instance, “how to” info about their summer reading program could have been put under a separate link. I like the community link at the top of the page which lists local events.

  10. Staff comments:
Pros- Library hours easily visible, IM available, visible program links (including a "Happening Today" section--VERY smart), cute quote at the top of the website, Search Bar at top of page

Cons- No staff information, no volunteer/job information, font on the small side on some pages (this would be more problematic for older patrons)
