General comment about overall appearance.
Describe the design elements that you like.
Describe the functionality features that you like.
I like the navigation (next and previous page links) in the center news section to eliminate scrolling. I do not like link color change on top menu. I do not like large real estate used at the for a meaningless photo. Seems pretty similar to our current website in terms of depth and breadth of content. The Find Information page is very comprehensive and utilizes links to other websites as well as to their own databases and also library-developed content like reading lists, website lists.
I like the overall appearance and colors I like the name & photo at the top with "enlighten, engage, inspire" underneath I like the "new arrivals" with the scrolling book covers I like that you can get to just about anything you might be looking for from the clearly labeled links across the top of the home page
Color scheme unifies without distracting - 3 color palette might be about right Like the tree at "support the library" - sense of giving to the future like new arrivals and catalog featured prominently don't like ebook and my account - they get lost and don't fit at the same time
From a reference staff member: Don't care for the dark green background. The library name takes up too much space. The kids & Teen's section is totally unappealing.

Liked the "turning page" graphic in the top right hand side used to add interest to the home page and other pages.

ReplyDeleteToo much white space. Good list of reading resources.
I agree library banner is too big. Lots of white space feels empty. Lots of databases but list is boring.
ReplyDeleteStaff comment:
I thought that the myacpl.org and bexlib.org websites weren't greatly different from our own.
